Precision casting features
The dimensional accuracy of the casting is high, the surface roughness is small, the dimensional accuracy of the investment casting can reach 4~6, and the surface roughness can reach Ra1.6 ~ 3.2 μm, which can greatly reduce the chip machining allowance of the casting, and can realize the casting without allowance.
Compared with other casting methods and parts forming methods, investment casting has the following characteristics:
1. The dimensional accuracy of castings is high, the surface roughness is small, the dimensional accuracy of investment castings can reach 4~6, and the surface roughness can reach Ra1.6 ~ 3.2 μm, which can greatly reduce the chip machining allowance of castings, and can realize no allowance casting.
2. Can cast castings with complex shapes. Investment casting can cast castings with very complex shapes and difficult to process by other methods, such as impellers, hollow blades, etc., which gives great freedom to the structural design of parts.
3. Alloy materials are not limited, various alloy materials, such as carbon alloy steel, stainless steel, alloy steel.
4. High production flexibility and adaptability, investment casting tooling can be manufactured using a variety of materials and processes, making it suitable for mass production, small batch production, and even single-piece production. Investment casting also has certain limitations, such as cumbersome process flow and long production cycle; casting size cannot be too large; casting cooling speed is slow.
